People are doing themselves a disservice by not giving this show a chance. I've read a lot of posts where people say they dropped the show after the first episode "because it wasn't funny" or some other reason...it's like everyone expected the show to be one thing and when it wasn't that thing, they just weren't interested in giving it a chance. That to me is just the most self-entitled way to approach a show I can think of. It did take a few episodes for the tone of the show to finally gel, but each episode got better and better until the finale, and I can't wait for season 2. Is the show a comedy or drama? Who cares, it was absurd and surreal and full of great little details, and the characters are very well written and the whole thing is just wonderfully meta. It reminds me of Louie (another show that seems to turn off some people who expect Louis CK to be funny but become confused by the dramatic tone the show can take). If you are a fan of Louie, you'll probably like BoJack Horseman. I can't recommend this show enough.  BoJack Horseman Season 1 (2014)
