The Last Weekend, review - HIDVDS.COM

We now know that (unless he’s lying) Ollie has an inoperable brain tumour – which means that he feels no emotions. Given Penry-Jones’s acting skills, that’s rather useful. He’s also said, significantly or otherwise, that as a result he could probably even murder someone without troubling his conscience. Ian clearly remains attracted to Daisy – a fact not helped by her tendency to wear very few clothes. And then there’s Ollie’s fixation with both his late father and Em’s cleavage, as well as a recurring scene of bullying at the school where Ian teaches…

If everything is indeed connected, all of these will somehow have be woven together – but, given the quality of Mick Ford’s script (adapted from Blake Morrison’s novel), my guess is that it’ll be very satisfyingly done, dvd movie shop. Last night’s programme may sometimes have felt like one long tease: at one point, the fog-bound Ian even had the nerve to tell us, “I don’t want you to think I&rsquo, dvds online shop;m hiding anything from you.” But it was also a hugely enjoyable and tantalising one. In short, I can’t wait to see what happens next.
