This week on 'America's Next Top Model' the girls shot a Cover Girl "Get the Look" online video and were split up into three teams of three. Most of the teams got along, but when you put Alexandria on any of those teams, there's bound to be some diva moments.
Case in point: Molly and Monique were put on a team with her and had to produce a daytime/casual look for the shoot. The girls were already heated with Alexandria from last week, and despite the fact that Molly and Monique were Alexandria's "roommates," they clearly hated her guts.
From the jump -- surprise, surprise -- Alexandria tried to control everything that was going on, despite the fact that girls had been assigned roles. Things escalated and she started crying out of frustration. Still, none of that crying and micromanaging did any good because Kasia, Brittani (my new fave!) and Mikaela won the challenge.
So, what did Monique do then? She pulled a whole mean-girls-in-middle-school move and read Alexandria's diary. Apparently, this was supposed to be the big drama of the week, but I have to say, it was lame. I mean, they touched on this clear invasion of privacy for like five seconds and moved on to the old Los Angeles Zoo photo shoot.
What's going on this season? Seems to me like the editors are working overtime to try to piece together a storyline, but Cycle 16 is severely lacking in drama. Where's the hair pulling, the backstabbing, the epic shouting matches? The most we've gotten are girls venting in the confessional about Alexandria.
Speaking of confessional, Alexandria made it a point this week to open the vault and explain why she's so uptight. She dealt with domestic violence growing up and had to raise her younger siblings. It all makes sense now. Usually, the girls who are the most vocal, the most brash, are the same girls who come from less than ideal backgrounds. Puts things in perspective ...
Moving on ... according to Tyra, stylists are the new designers and in keeping with this latest trend in the fashion industry, the girls modeled items from celeb stylist and guest judge for the week, Rachel Zoe's new line of faux furs. Not only that, they had to model with the cutest baby jaguar I've ever seen. Was anyone else waiting for that jag to attack someone? Maybe it was just me.
Rachel looked fabulous, not worn out and über-fragile like usual. Honestly, I think she had that pregnancy glow, but it was hard to tell she was even preggers because she's so tiny. Anyway, I wanted to hear those infamous Zoe-isms -- " Bananas", "I die", "Shut it down" -- but alas, I was denied. Instead, we got the best quote of the night: "In that photo, Kasia looks ... inexpensive."
There were a lot of ups and downs during the photo shoot, but at judges' panel it came down to Dalya and Molly. Molly struggled with that weave ... again! Didn't Tyra tell her last week she was going to take care of it? But, the judges cut her some slack and let her stay another week. At this rate, Molly will end up making it all the way to the end with that mop on her head. Maybe it's her secret weapon.
I was surprised that the judges eliminated Dalya. She seemed to be at the top of the pack most weeks, plus she won the runway challenge last week. To be perfectly honest, I didn't think her photo was that bad, but obviously the judges weren't feeling it.
What did you guys think about Dalya's elimination? What about Molly's hair? I just can't get over how awful it is. Stay tuned for next week's episode when Tyra teaches the girls about the highs and lows of fame!
