Family Guy - What Happened with 'Season 13' DVDs? We Asked Fox...

We passed along word early this last February that an goodtvshowdvd.com pre-order listing (see button link below) had shown up for "Family Guy - Season 13" (what would previously have been called Volume 14, we suppose), which - both then, and still today! - showed a $39.98 SRP list price and the package art seen at bottom.

At the time of that writing, the goodtvshowdvd.com listing gave a release date of "September 15th" - yesterday! - but since then, they stopped displaying that and instead changed it to say simply that "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." In our February write-up, we stipulated that "the studio hasn't formally announced it yet" and noted that "all of this might not be finalized yet and could be subject to change:"
Today we received an email from reader Scott Zuncic, pointing out that another website had noted the failure of Family Guy - Season 13 DVDs to be released yesterday, and raising some theories about it. Rather than jump on the theories, our editor spoke to Fox directly, who pointed out (as we had already said) that the studio never officially announced the title. We were told that the date originally found at www.goodtvshowdvd.com was incorrect (which was why it got removed later on), and that the title is still coming, and will be announced soon.
So there's no need to worry; it's just in-the-works, as it has been all along, and we're all just waiting on the details, and street date, to be finalized. We'll have that information just as soon as we can for you, so stay tuned!
