Lonesome Dove (mini-series) - 1989's 'Original Miniseries Event' Returns to DVD, Blu-ray Disc

First released on DVD some fifteen years ago (by long-defunct Trimark Pictures), and first released on Blu-ray Disc in 2008 (by Genius Products), the production that started a huge TV franchise will return to both disc formats as a stand-alone title this October 20th. Mill Creek Entertainment has announced that on this date they will release Lonesome Dove - The Original Miniseries Event, with 2-disc sets on DVD ($14.98 SRP) and high-def Blu-ray Disc ($19.98 SRP). Lonesome Dove was nominated for 18 Emmy Awards, and won seven. It won two Golden Globes including Best Mini-Series or Motion Picture Made for TV. One of the highest rated miniseries of all time, holding the top position for a six year period (1987-1993).
