The Wonder Years - A Completely 'Wide' Wonder with 'The Complete Series'

In the history of TV, THE WONDER YEARS is one of the most popular and beloved shows. Set in the late 1960s and early '70s the hit comedy/drama focused on the trials and tribulations of young Kevin Arnold and his family: brother Wayne, sister Karen, father Jack, and mother Norma.
Capturing the angst of growing up in suburban middle-class America, the storylines focus on Kevin entering junior high and navigating the rocky adventure of teen years with his "sometimes" girlfriend, Winnie Cooper, and his best friend, Paul Pfeiffer, at his side.
This brilliant series debuted on ABC in 1988 and ran for six seasons. Audiences eagerly followed Kevin's evolution as a typical teenager who remembered every moment of his transition from childhood with excruciating detail and remarkable hindsight.
It's been barely over a year now since Time Life released The Wonder Years - The Complete Series on DVD as a TimeLife.com online exclusive. Now the studio is scheduling a "wide" general retail release of the title, making it available in participating stores in time for the Christmas gift-giving season! It will be available there October 6th, in 2 different configurations:
The Wonder Years - The Complete Series: Collector's Box Set ($249.98 SRP)
26 DVDs containing all 115 episodes and over 23 hours of bonus features. Two notebooks with detailed episode information and a replica yearbook with behind-the-scenes photos and notes from the cast and crew. All housed in a collectible metal locker with custom Wonder Years magnets to decorate it with. (EDITOR'S NOTE: this is the same configuration as what TimeLife.com has previously offered, and at the same list price at what the studio's online store is currently selling the item for, but without the "installment payments" plan being available.)
The Wonder Years - The Complete Series ($199.98 SRP)
A slipcase containing everything above, minus the metal locker, yearbook and magnets. (EDITOR'S NOTE: essentially a slimmed down version of the Collector's Box Set, at a lower cost and in "shelf-friendly" packaging.)
Package art for the new configuration isn't available yet, but we hope to have it in the next week or two when Time Life provides a formal press release announcing the retail availability of every episode for this beloved show. In the meantime, here's a look at what TimeLife.com has been selling for the past year:
