The Barbara McNair Show - Now Available: A 4-DVD Set of the Groundbreaking 1969 Variety Show! **UPDATE/CORRECTION**

The talented Barbara McNair was one of the country's most popular headliners in the 1950s and '60s. She was a favorite guest on TV variety shows such as "The Steve Allen Show," and created headlines with her role in the gritty film If He Hollers, Let Him Go in 1968.

But in 1969, Barbara McNair made history as the first African American woman to host her own TV variety show with "The Barbara McNair Show," featuring an all-star guest cast of some of the best signers and performers of the time, including B.B. King, Johnny Mathis, the Righteous Brothers, and Della Reese.

Sit back and enjoy over 12 hours of Barbara's beautiful voice, charming personality and the performances of her many talented guests in this never-before-released collection of the best episodes of "The Barbara McNair Show!"
We missed finding out about this May 4th release until this past 24 hours, and we're grateful to reader "AJ" for the heads-up: two weeks ago www.odvdo.com began selling a 4-DVD set of The Barbara McNair Show - Barbara McNair. This 18-episode collection is a product of Synergy Entertainment and Topics Entertainment. The title is priced at $19.98 SRP, but can be bought at a discount...except it's out-of-stock right now, but www.odvdo.com says they'll have it to ship once again starting in two days (May 21st). We've got the box art below, and it reminds us that McNair was "The 1st African-American Woman to Host Her Own TV Variety Show." It also mentions a bunch of guest stars, including the recently-deceased B.B. King! Be sure to add this to your collection:
