The Comeback, which premiered in 2005, is a 13-episode half-hour comedy series starring Lisa Kudrow (fresh off her ten-year run on the legendary sitcom Friends), and created/executive produced by Michael Patrick King (Sex and the City) and Kudrow. The series follows Valerie Cherish, a former B-list sitcom star so desperate to revive her career that she agrees to star in a reality television show called The Comeback, with cameras following her every move as she lands a part in a new network sitcom, Room and Bored. The series was nominated for three Emmy Awards, including one for Kudrow for Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy.

Ten years later, The Comeback returns to widespread critical acclaim for an even more daring, outrageous and riskier season. This time around Valerie gets back into the spotlight when cast in a new HBO series created by her old nemesis Paulie G. based on his experiences working with her. In addition to Kudrow, returning cast members include Lance Barber as Paulie G.; Dan Bucatinsky as Valerie's high-strung publicist Billy; Robert Michael Morris as her devoted hairstylist Mickey; Damian Young as her husband Mark; Laura Silverman as her producer Jane; and Malin Akerman as her former Room and Bored co-star Juna (now a bona-fide movie star).
