Outlander - Blu-ray Discs, DVDs Already Planned for 'Season 1, Volume 2'

Early last August, the Starz cable channel launched an original program, Outlander, developed for television by Ronald D. Moore (Battlestar Galactica, Star Trek: The Next Generation) based on the popular series of novels by Diana Gabaldon. They aired the 16-episode first season in two parts, with the first 8 episodes shown in August and September, and the second half debuting earlier this month and planning to wrap up near the end of May. The series has already been renewed for a second season. Back on March 3rd, prior to the end of the mid-season break, Sony Pictures Home Entertainment released Season 1, Volume 1 on DVD, Blu-ray Disc, and as a Limited Edition Blu-ray Gift Set.
Now www.odvdo.om is ALREADY taking pre-orders for a release of Outlander - Season 1, Volume 2 on both DVD and high-def Blu-ray Disc. These listings are prior to the official announcement for the title from Sony, though, so instead of a street date Amazon merely says "This title has not yet been released. You may pre-order it now and we will deliver it to you when it arrives." Pricing is available, however, currently showing $38.99 SRP for the standard DVD and $55.99 SRP for the Blu-ray version (you can, of course, guarantee your copy right away at a discounted price, if you order it using either of the above links). There are no other details available so far at www.odvdo.com 's entry, nor box art (just temp art from the show's promo campaign). Nor is there any word of a "Complete Season 1" type of set, either, at least so far. We'll update you further on this, of course, just as soon as we find out anything more. Our thanks to one of our readers, "Renee," for the heads-up about this item!
