Jonah from Tonga - HBO Press Release Announces Chris Lilley's New Spin-Off

New York, N.Y. - Chris Lilley's hilarious Summer Heights High brought together three of his funniest characters in an Australian public school setting, and ended with one of them, rebellious 14-year-old Jonah Takalua, being shipped off to the island of Tongapatu because he couldn't control his disruptive behavior. Jonah from Tonga, a new follow-up series from Lilley that catches up with Jonah as he adjusts to island life, comes to DVD ($19.98) on February 24, 2015 with more than 80 minutes of deleted scenes. Hot on the heels of 2014's DVD release of Ja'mie: Private School Girl, which caught up with another popular character from Summer Heights High, Jonah from Tonga is a must-own for all Chris Lilley completists and fans of character-based comedy.
In Jonah from Tonga, Jonah is banished to the island of Tongapatu and living with his extended family - an arrangement that isn't working out well for anyone. When his uncle has had enough and sends him back to Sydney, Jonah finds himself enrolled in a Catholic high school, Holy Cross, with new friends (his "Fobba-licious" Pacific Islander crew), new foes (the "Rangas," led by Year 12 school captain Graydon) and new teachers he drives to the brink of insanity. Through it all, Jonah tries to leave his "naughty" ways behind and be a "good boy," but things for this "rebel without a cause" never quite go as planned.
