In the 16th installment of THE AMAZING RACE, eleven teams depart on a 40,000-mile sprint around the world. This season features a first-time visit to the African nation of Seychelles in the Indian Ocean. Teams facing this course include beloved Big Brother couple, Jordan & Jeff; internet sensation and beauty queen, Caite Upton; and cowboy brothers, Jet & Cord. They must all perform amazing acts of agility, stamina, courage, and strength. They race using one banana to lure a 100-year-old tortoise, struggle with the language in China, and navigate an unfamiliar train system in Germany without their teammates then must bungee jump 150-feet through the air. They even have a run-in with a moody cow that inflicts bodily harm to a racer. They soon realize they're in trouble without the support of their teammates. Over a challenging meal, they discuss refocusing and pushing on - stomachaches and all. All of these challenges are endured for the sake of winning the million dollar prize. Then, eleven teams depart from Gloucester, Massachusetts on a trip around the world, spanning over 32,000 miles, 4 continents, and 30 cities. Traveling north of the Arctic Circle for the first time, this 17th installment of THE AMAZING RACE also includes first-time visits to Bangladesh and Ghana. Teams facing this course include a birth mother and daughter who've only just been reunited. So many obstacles along the way - one racer accidentally launches a watermelon into her own face, while a vegetarian racer must overcome a plate of meat to secure her team's spot on the race. Teams are also faced with two new twists, the Double U-Turn and the Express Pass. And, for the first time while racing, one racer makes a marriage proposal to another. From whitewater rafting to a 500-foot rappel, all teams confront their personal doubts and push on for the victory celebration.
