renovation expert first loses her London team after an accident, then a local Yorkshire team too superstitious to continue, she's forced to carry on alone. The discovery of a secret attic room, a Rosicrucian mosaic, a bricked up root cellar and many other unexplainable events gradually convince Meg, her husband Alec and children Penny and Harper, that they're not only restoring the house, but also its original Victorian owners who died 150 years ago. But before they can escape, the house - and its former occupants - force them to spend one last, terrifying night under its roof.

There are many great things I have read about the Altar movie. One of the biggest impressions the film has made upon me was the fact that the music and the ending are something that will never escape my mind. Before I get to the music and soundtracks that were used in the film let me first say that this article does not contain spoiler alerts. The music is essential to creating the mood in any film and in Altar the movie the feeling I got was one of ancient mysteries that will soon unravel. Yes there is something rather mystical about the theme of the whole movie. The irony is that the man who previously owned the house killed someone inside it. Throughout the course of the film, one must ask themselves whether or not the Hamiltons who now live there will meet the same deadly fate. If I were to rate this movie on a scale of one to ten I would give it a definite, strong nine. The reason for this is because of the mixture of suspense, harmonious music, top-of-the-line acting, scary horror scenes, and nonstop storytelling that kept me watching until the very end. From my experience the best horror films are the ones that will not rely on simple scares but effective things like threatening murder using household objects like paintings, hence the movie title altar which is used for sacrifice. This movie is also topped with an efficient plot that is very well connected and keeps the audience thinking will the Hamiltons end this living nightmare of constant haunting day and night, or will they meet their end?
