When their shuttle is damaged on the way to Centari Five, six friends are forced to crash land on the surface of a mysterious alien planet. Stranded with little hope of rescue, it soon becomes clear that they are not alone. Hunted by the planet's ferocious inhabitants and targeted by heavily-armed forces, they will have to struggle just to survive.

So to begin, Off World had a relatively small budget (only $750,000) so don't go into this expecting a AAA feature. That being said I personally found the overall aesthetic of the film to be quite pleasing and reminiscent of the early 2000's - placing this title a few years behind the times.

Off World does a decent job of mixing light comedy, action, suspense, sci-fi and even offers a little twist towards the end. In spite of the competent meshing of genres, I found the plot to be rather lacklustre and pretty uninspiring overall. Off World left me with enough unanswered questions towards the end of the film to warrant a separate title that provides an alternative perspective for the time frame.

When all is said and done though, if you like science fiction and have a few hours to kill, I certainly wouldn't dissuade you from watching this feature. The cast do decent job of suspending your disbelief and as previously mentioned, the aesthetic is of what I would call an acceptable standard.
